My kids were watching a tv or comedy show the other day and they asked me why is ok for African Americans to make jokes about Caucasian people all the time. I normally try not to rock the boat too much because being in the military I walk a fine line on what’s appropriate to say or do. I’m a firm believer in Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. However, I did really give what the kids said some consideration. Here’s my issue, why is it okay for African American comedians to make racist jokes about Caucasian people all the time?
If a Caucasian person made a joke about African Americans or said the “N” word, we would see boycotts and requests to have them fired, etc. In my opinion, this is such a double standard. What do you think? Is there a double standard or am I thinking…
